Dear Sir or Madam,

I am very much looking forward to the Yearly EMU Gathering 2008 in Germany.

Since establishing our Foundation, we have visited Muslims in many of Europes countries, including Spain, Russia, Turkey, Switzerland, Kosovo and England. Our primary intention has been to find out more about the situation of other Muslims in Europe, and whether possibilities exist for collaboration on various projects.

It has always been important to us to mention that Islam was neither in the past, nor is in the present foreign or hostile to Europe. Muslims have been part of the European situation for centuries. In that respect I would point to the cities of Sarajevo, the Capital of Islam in Europe, Granada, home to one of Europes most important mosques, and Weimar, a town that symbolises the encounter between European thought and Islam.

At the beginning of February 2008 the Russian MuslimCommunity welcomed a guest from Western Europe.

An English Muslim, Hajj Dr. Asadullah Yate, Cambridge graduate and presently Imam and teacher of the Islamic Community of Potsdam in Germany, visited the National Organisation of Russian Muslims (NORM) and spent ten days in Moscow.
